The Pictou County Women's Centre is a non profit, community based resource centre that provides support, advocacy, information, programs and community education.

The Centre is available to ALL women regardless of their age, sexual orientation, background, race or origin. By offering programs and services to women, we further develop social justice, community development, self help and women's health. 


The Centre has two mandates

1.) Direct Service: We offer women and adolescent girls in Pictou County support, referrals, information, an programs on a wide range of issues. We also do advocacy by accompanying women to other services such as court, community services, appeals, Children's Aid, to name a few. The main focus of our programing is on personal empowerment and women's economic independence.

2.) Social Change: We attempt to create social change by: Responding to public policy as it pertains to women's equality. Using the community development model and working with other community partners to address gaps in services, inequality issues, youth issues, and work towards community based solutions.
